Apple-Cabbage Salad

I'm back to looking through my grandmother's handwritten book. I was looking for something rhubarbesque, but since the book is in no particular order I ended up looking through a lot of interesting recipes and decided to post this one instead.

It sounds to me like coleslaw with apples in it, but since I've never made coleslaw I can't really confirm that. In my Grandmother's book it's simply called "Salad",  copied from the Family Herald (magazine), but it sounds pretty simple.
Equal quantities of cabbage and apple, chopped, adding sweet cream flavoured to taste with sugar, salt, pepper, a little mustard and a few chopped walnuts added improve the flavour. This make a delicious salad in winter time.
