Plain Fritter batter

1 Cup Flour 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder pinch of salt 1 egg 2/3 cup milk. Dip slices of fruit in a tablespoon of batter, fry in hot fat. Now, if I were to make this, I think that I would likely take them out of the fat (oil) when they look puffy and browny, but never having made them I'm not sure exactly. Maybe use a paper towel to drain them, and then sprinkle them in icing sugar. I mean seriously, you're already dipping them in batter, and frying them, why not toss a bit of sugar or cinnamon on it after?
